Baptism by the sea – a new life

It was a wonderful Baptism and weekend of fellowship. We went down on Friday evening. We had a prayer meeting, and went to stay in the homes of hosts from Seaford church.

On Saturday morning we went down to find the baptismal spot. The beach looked steep and stony and the weather rough. The story of Jesus calming the water came up two times last week so we prayed.

In the afternoon we had great fun going down to the sea in a convoy of 8-9 cars. The sea had gone out revealing beautiful sand, and the sun come out for the first time in ages. Glory to Jesus!

Six of us were baptised. Before I went under I remembered what the Lord had shown us about yielding to him in Roman 6. We praised the Lord and spend the rest of the day in fellowship.

On Sunday morning we had a fantastic time of worship and praise to Jesus, and a wonderful message. We are no longer subject to trying to do what is right, but have died and are alive again in a love relationship with Jesus. Because we love him we want to do what he wants. It comes naturally.

There was more ministry from Terry Virgo in the afternoon. God loves us as we are. We shouldn’t humble ourselves to nothing but be ourselves in him. We’ve got to develop this love with Jesus more and more, and enjoy everything around us, because it is from God.
